27 MAY 2011 (HIGH MUSEUM, ATLANTA) Nine American WWII veterans who helped liberate France in 1944-1945 are presented with the Legion of Honor by the French Ambassador to the United States, François Delattre, at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. The Legion of Honor, created by Napoleon Bonaparte, is France’s highest decoration.
